The Year End Marketing Review Prompt

Thirty minutes with each agent in December beats a vague plan in January.

By Casey McClintic, founder. Updated 10/28/2026.

This prompt runs the conversation in four timed phases: the agent's year, what worked and what did not, three goals for 2027 in their own words, and a one page plan with a keep, start and drop list and three dated actions for the first 30 days. When you have done several agents, a fifth phase turns the pages into a half page office plan, without ranking anyone.

How it works

Three steps.

  1. Copy the prompt into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, or open one with a click.
  2. Sit with one agent for 30 minutes and type their answers: their year, what worked, what did not, and three goals for 2027.
  3. Approve the one page, send it to the agent, and repeat for the next agent. Paste the pages in at the end for the office plan.

Run it

ChatGPT and Claude open with the prompt pasted. Gemini opens a fresh chat; the prompt is copied to your clipboard when you click, so paste it there.

What happens in the chat

  1. Phase 1: the year. Five minutes. The agent's year in their own words, the marketing they used, and what they asked for and never used.
  2. Phase 2: worked and did not. Five minutes. Where the business came from, the post, launch or message that led to a call, and what got skipped or ran late.
  3. Phase 3: 2027. Ten minutes. Three goals in the agent's words, one habit to keep, one to start, one to drop, and who does what.
  4. Phase 4: the one page. Five minutes. A page under 250 words with three dated actions for the first 30 days and a next check-in date.
  5. Phase 5: the office plan. After several agents: what repeats across the pages and a half page plan with three priorities. No agent is named or ranked.

What you end up with

  • A one page 2027 plan for each agent
  • A keep, start and drop list in the agent's words
  • Three dated actions for the first 30 days
  • A half page office plan with three priorities

FAQ

Questions, answered

Why 30 minutes?

Because a review that fits in half an hour actually happens, and one that needs a retreat does not. The timing is built in: five minutes for the year, five for what worked, ten for 2027 and five for the page. Anything that does not fit goes on the agent's first 30 days list.

Should the agent see the page?

Yes. It is the agent's page, in the agent's words, and they should correct it before it is final. The office plan is the only part that goes across agents, and it never names or ranks anyone.

Do I need the agent's numbers?

Only the ones they offer. The prompt uses what the agent tells you and writes not known for the rest. A review built on a number nobody can back up is worse than one that says so.
