The Voice Guide Prompt

Three words for how you sound is not enough. This prompt reads five things you actually wrote, finds the words you use and never use, sets how formal you are, builds your banned list, and writes a half-page voice guide you paste at the top of every AI chat from now on. Every other prompt gets better once this exists.

How it works

Three steps.

  1. Copy the prompt into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, or open one with a click.
  2. Paste five things you wrote yourself: a client text, a client email, a social post, a listing description, a message to another agent.
  3. Approve the guide, copy it into a note labeled VOICE, and paste it at the top of every AI chat you start.

Run it

ChatGPT and Claude open with the prompt pasted. Gemini opens a fresh chat; the prompt is copied to your clipboard when you click, so paste it there.

What happens in the chat

  1. Phase 1: the samples. Five things in your own words. Nothing an assistant or an AI wrote for you.
  2. Phase 2: what it hears. Your repeated words, the words you never use, how formal you are, your sentence length, how you open and close, and three things that make your writing yours.
  3. Phase 3: the banned list. Your words, plus the usual suspects to confirm one by one: nestled, boasts, dream home, passionate, dedicated, stunning, perfect for.
  4. Phase 4: the guide. Under 200 words in a fixed format, with a fair housing line built in.
  5. Phase 5: the test. One listing paragraph written twice, in your voice and in generic agent voice. You say which one is you and what still feels off.

What you end up with

  • VOICE: a half-page guide in a fixed format
  • Your banned word list
  • A fair housing line that travels with every draft
  • A test paragraph you can compare against

The prompt

Read it once so you know what it will ask. Change the days, the pillars or the words it bans to fit how you work.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Why five samples?

One sample is a mood; five are a pattern. A text, an email, a post, a listing and a note to another agent cover the range of how you write, so the guide holds up across formats instead of copying one.

Do I paste this into every chat?

Yes. AI tools do not remember you between chats. The guide is 200 words, so it costs nothing to paste, and it is the difference between copy that sounds like you and copy that sounds like every other agent.

What if I do not like how I sound?

Then the guide is where you change it. Edit the words, the formality and the openers to how you want to sound, keep it honest enough that you would say it out loud, and the drafts follow.
