The Weekly Market Update Prompt

Paste this week's numbers with their source and get a 60-second script, a caption and an email, built around the one point that matters for a seller and a buyer this week. It shows every number beside the one you pasted, flags any prediction or promise, and writes around any gap instead of filling it.

How it works

Three steps.

  1. Copy the prompt into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, or open one with a click.
  2. Paste this week's numbers and where they came from: new listings, under contract, closed, median price, days on market, months of supply.
  3. Approve the one point, film the script in one take with the source on screen, and save the chat for next week.

Run it

ChatGPT and Claude open with the prompt pasted. Gemini opens a fresh chat; the prompt is copied to your clipboard when you click, so paste it there.

What happens in the chat

  1. Phase 1: the numbers. This week's figures with their source, a comparison period if you have one, and one thing you saw on the ground.
  2. Phase 2: the one point. The single most useful takeaway for a seller and for a buyer, checked against what you saw.
  3. Phase 3: the script. About 140 words with on-screen number cues, a caption under 150 words, an email under 200 with a subject line.
  4. Phase 4: the check. Every number beside the one you pasted, plus flags for predictions, promises and groups of people.
  5. Phase 5: the handoff. One take, source on screen, same chat next week.

What you end up with

  • A 60-second script with on-screen number cues
  • A caption under 150 words
  • An email under 200 words with a subject line
  • A number-by-number match against your source

The prompt

Read it once so you know what it will ask. Change the days, the pillars or the words it bans to fit how you work.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Why does it refuse to predict?

Because a prediction that misses costs you the trust the update was building, and because it is not yours to make. The script says what happened, what it means for someone in a situation, and invites a conversation.

What if I only have three of the six numbers?

It writes around the gaps and tells you which ones it left out. It never fills a gap with a national figure or a guess.

Does this replace a monthly newsletter?

No. It feeds one. Four weekly updates give you the month's numbers and the month's story, and the email version drops straight into the newsletter.
