Most marketing emails get ignored. They end up in the trash or sit unopened forever. But a well-crafted email can drive real revenue for your business. Here's how to write emails that people actually open, read, and act on.

Nail the Subject Line

Your subject line is everything. If it doesn't grab attention, nothing else matters. Keep it short, specific, and curiosity-driven. Avoid spammy words like "FREE" or "ACT NOW." Instead, try something like "The one thing your competitors aren't doing" or "Quick question about your marketing."

Personalize It

No one wants to read a generic blast. Use the recipient's name and reference something specific to them. If you're reaching out to a business owner, mention their business by name. Personalization shows you did your homework.

Lead With Value

Don't start with what you want. Start with what you can give. Share a tip, an insight, or a compliment. Give them a reason to keep reading before you make any ask.

Keep It Short

Long emails don't get read. Get to the point in three to five short paragraphs max. Use line breaks and white space so it's easy to scan on mobile.

Have One Clear Call to Action

Don't confuse your reader with multiple asks. Every email should have one goal. Whether it's booking a call, visiting your website, or replying to your message, make it crystal clear what you want them to do next.

Follow Up

Most conversions happen on the second or third email, not the first. Don't be afraid to follow up. A simple "Just wanted to make sure this didn't get buried" can work wonders.
